Foolish, how was I so careless?
Pawning off my treasure, the envy of an heiress
Now my dollars are crumbled in my pocket,
how can I reclaim it? What if someone's got it?

Hi folks, I'm Janna, 47, single with two cats, and with the exception of the summer months, I've been unemployed since 2008. I enjoyed participating on this list last year, finding ways to economically grant wishes whenever I could. I hope to do more of the same this year, but will need to be even more creative given the dust accumulating in my checking account.

If you leave a comment on this entry, please leave a link to yours; perhaps I can reciprocate. You'll find my address beneath the cut at the end of my list. And thanks!

1) Fred Meyer gift cards. They'll help me feed the kitties and keep me in shoes and rice while I try to find my next job.

2) Chanukah holiday cards and items: I love sending and receiving holiday cards. What I really love is received holiday cards and items appropriate to the fact that I'm Jewish. No question that I appreciate any cards I receive, but I celebrate Chanukah, so Chanukah cards and related stuff makes me extra happy.

3) Donations to Seattle Animal Shelter or Best Friends Animal Society. These folks need all the help they can get.

4) An extension of my Flickr pro account for 2010.

5) Coca-Cola bottle caps. If you drink Coca-Cola but don't register your codes at MyCokeRewards.com, send me your bottle caps and I'll use the codes.

6) Disney trading pins: I collect and trade Disney pins, but without discretionary income, my hobby's been pretty significantly curtailed. Got a pin cluttering up your jewelry box? Send it to me!

7) Anything from my Amazon wishlist.

8) Gift cards for Blurb.com.

9) Handmade bookmarks. I read voraciously, and always more than one book at a time. If you've make bookmarks, I'd love to put one to good use.

10) Perform random acts of kindness. Times are so tough, and everyone could benefit from a kindness they didn't expect.

Here's my address )

Have a wonderful holiday season, folks, and a happy, healthy and prosperous new year.

Hello everyone!

My name is Jenn, I'm 22, and I'm a senior English/Journalism major (with a Music minor) at Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio. This is my fourth year participating in [info]holiday_wishes, and I'm super-excited for it! This year has been rather difficult at times, and as a result, I'm really looking forward to the holiday season this year.

o1. Extra Userpics/Paid Livejournal time. I love having a paid account (not to mention the extra userpics), so I would really appreciate it if someone could help me extend it a little; my journal expires on 24 December and my userpics expire at the end of next week, so it'd be really amazing if someone would be wonderful enough to help me out!! :]

o2. Anything from my Amazon.com wishlist. I realize that most of what I asked for is somewhat rare/off the beaten path, but receiving even one of these things would make the entire holiday season for me.

o3. Christmas (and/or Hanukkah) cards. I absolutely LOVE getting mail, and since I am living on campus this year, I have not been receiving much lately. Something like this would really help make my days brighter. (I was raised to celebrate both Hanukkah and Christmas, so I would be very grateful to receive either in the mail!)

o4. A scarf from Great Britain. I'm a HUGE fan of Manchester United, and I would love an authentic scarf from Great Britain. If this isn't possible, I would still like a plain one (preferably red or blue-and-white striped, but anything would be wonderful. I'm really not that picky). :]

o5. Teas and/or Coffees. My apartment gets ridiculously cold at night (and it's not even December yet)! Tea would definitely help make things more comfy and less chilly.

o6. 'Doctor Who' memorabilia from Great Britain. I've been a New Who fan ever since the new series started, and I would love any little collectibles that people would be able to send me - action figures, little toys, even my own Sonic Screwdriver! Anything that can be sent through the post would be really appreciated. :]

o7. Borders or Starbucks gift cards. These are the two places I spend most of my time, and they also make me the happiest. Any amount would be fantastic - even $5 would make a big difference!

My address is - )

1) anything off my bpal wishlist, or
Either the Triple Dagger or the Clockwork scent lockets from here: BPTP

2) amazon wishlist.
or, heck, pack up a bunch of books you don't want and send 'em on!

3) Scrapbooky-type tags and stickers (esp alphabets!) or herbal-looking stamps/stickers/papers (Lavender plants, Basil leaves, etc)

4) Notebooks, blank books, the mini-moleskine-size notebooks....

5) Beads and / or bead supplies -- old necklaces / earrings etc from thrift shops that I can take apart and use the parts are the BOMB!
(This includes one cool bead leftover from a package of 5, a busted earring, whatever you don't feel like using but don't want to throw out. Beadwise, that is -- no livestock like children or husbands!)

6) An office in Springfield, MO to practice massage in!

Hmm, that brings it to 6. Do I HAVE to have 10?

Most of what I want this year is stuff that only I can do for myself -- like motivation to get UP and get moving and exercise, get UP and do the housework that I know needs doing, stuff like that. *sigh*

I guess the one wish I have that others can take care of is this:

Y'all be kind, courteous, and considerate of each other, hear?

Finally...after writing over 20,000 words of my NaNoWriMo novel (titled The Random Misadventures of Miguel and Tulio!), I finally wrote a page that captured Miguel and Tulio's characters. I wrote it a few nights ago and since I'm still excited over it I'm gonna share it!

Excerpt under here! )

Does anyone know if The Waters of Mars can be ordered on DVD anywhere? I checked Amazon.UK and can only find a box set of the Winter Specials that won't even be available until January! I live in America but have a multi-region DVD player and it seemed like I could order Planet of the Dead pretty much right after it aired on BBC.

I know it will air on BBCAmerica in a month, but I don't want to wait that long (and can't afford cable/dish anyway!).

Thanks!!
